I had a student stock a couple thousand gallon tank with 10 adult Brook Silversides. They bred in a big way. Adults do not appear to be going after fry. We will be pulling adults to see what kind of poundage we can raise without using feed.

So you're not going to feed them? Just leaving them to their own devices in a tank? I must be missing something as that seems quite cruel.
Truths are mutable, facts are not. Unless of course we're talking about the definition of mutable, then the fact is in fact mutable.

A couple thousand gallons for 10 Brook Stickleback is roomy indeed! Anything else going on in there, or are these just some large-living sticklebacks? How many new fish do you reckon you have?

We started with 10 adults. Now have at least a couple thousand fry with many getting up around an inch. They are starting to school up and move away from surface. Adults will be removed shortly.

Looks like the silversides undergo a discrete behavior change in a tank that does not occur as early in a pond. In tank the fish are about 1" when they start going deeper. Those in pond 2" before doing the same. Adult not eating little guys still. Seeing real potential here with this.
