I know Sachs has them, but I'm hoping to buy from a nanfa member if I can so I can actually see the specific fish beforehand and hopefully get more colorful stock.

Also, does anyone have general care parameters for these guys? What size tank is needed to breed? I know they are supposed to be generally pretty laid back, how much does that change when they spawn?

The only experience I have with natives is h Formosa and e Evergladei. But I've had my colony of Evergladei going for almost two years now

I would use a 40-gallon breeder tank with a partition / tank divider. They are easy to breed and very similar to Bantam Sunfish Lepomis symmetricus that I think are more closely allied to the Bluespotted, Banded and Black-banded Sunfishes than they are to the real Lepomis spp. See link below describing how the bantam works. There are differences, but close enough to get you started.

Find ways for people not already interested in natives to value them.

Try Jonah's Aquarium.  NANFA member and his fish are top notch.
