Does anyone know how long it takes for F. Dispar eggs to hatch? I know its temperature dependent but most of the eggs are a week old. I see eyes in some of them. Secondly, does peroxide or methblue work better as an anti-fungal for fish eggs?

Don't know specifically about the starhead complex but I've heard the standard is 7 to 10 days at the optimum temps. If your temp is below that I think you can definitely expect delays. I know this isn't too helpful but hopefully someone more knowledgeable will chip in

Killifish eggs are well-known for being difficult to hatch. The embryos develop to a point near hatching, and then can go dormant for weeks to months. Topminnows and other North American killifish are known to do this, not just the annual soil spawning killifish in other parts of the world. If the starhead topminnow eggs haven't hatched after another week or so, do a web search, and you will find numerous suggestions on breaking killifish egg dormancy. I have had some success getting Gulf Killifish and Redfaced Topminnows to hatch by exhaling carbon dioxide across the eggs in shallow water, but I've had more failures where the eggs never hatched after developing eye spots. I have not used anti-fungal agents enough to have suggestions.

Thanks Phil,
I now have 3 babies. I don’t know if they’re f-notatus or f-dispar as both are in the same tank. Things are looking up.
