hey so i was wondering what types of land bugs can my fantail darter eat cause right now hes eating live tiny worms but i want to give him a variety of live foods to keep him healthy and im broke so i cant   buy frozen blood worms and i dont have the space to store the frozen blood worms in the freezer so what types of land bugs i can feed him to make sure hes healthy

The problem with land bugs is they tend to float and fantail darters tend to be bottom dwellers.  Try using an aquarium net in a creek and see what you can scoop up from the bottom or under/on rocks and plants tiny scuds/bug larvae maybe in some ponds or backwaters find some daphnia.

Mine love mosquito larvae. You could also try pond snails.

Small isopods (sowbugs) are generally easy to find and they sink.

Culture some white worms and/or daphnia you can usually get cheap online or thru other aquarists.  the time and energy would be less overall than most other methods and more reliable.  Though it's fun to  collect your own which can still be done to supplement their diet.
