If you join NANFA you get the magazine "American Currents", four issues a year I think.

If you don't get one of the freebies, it is $20/yr.

Yep, this is the forum of the North American Native Fishes Association that publishes American Currents. Twenty bucks and you're in. AC is worth twice that. Next question?

Listen, if you haven't met Chris Scharpf, chances are he will be at the convention. Chris has essentially devoted his life to producing American Currents. It is on a par with about any scientific journal on biology as well as having the most current and ground breaking accounts of collecting, keeping and breeding native fishes. Chris has to be one of the most well read "hobbyists" out there. He fills every issue with the latest gleanings from other journals and news sources about conservation, taxonomy and research. If you are not reading American Currents, you are in the dark about what's happeing with native fishes. Sign up. You will not regret it!
