I have a green sunfish (3") and a black bullhead (3.5") in my 35 gallon tank. Soon I will be getting a 75 gallon tank. What could I add to the tank? A rock bass? Warmouth? Another Sunnie? I will be making a DYI filter for the tank so it will be over filtered.

Thanks
Mike

P.S.- Nice site you got here!

Put some Northern longears in there. They don't get too big, and they're beautiful. Smbass sells them for $4 a piece. If you don't want one of these, I would go with warmouth, because they're awesome. Warmouth are probably my fav. fish.

How about this?

1x green sunfish
1x northern longear sunfish OR pumpkin seed
1x rock bass
1x black bullhead

Any temperment issues? What would you do?

Thanks
Mike

I think you would be fine with those numbers of fish. I do sell N. Longears and many other sunfish species when I have them available. Here is a nice male...

How do you tell the male northern longears from the females?

just like most sunfish males are much brighter colored and even though they don't have as long of an "ear" flap as centrals there is still a difference in size between males and females. Males have much longer flaps. Here is a female...

Probably, the above pictures are of fish from the blanchard river which I think yours are from the same area.

Yep close enough, both in the southern Maumee drainage.
