Purple warmouth?

Has anyone ever seen a warmouth with a purpleish hue to it? I caught a male that's about 5" yesterday and he is kind of light purple. I'll post pics later.

yeah, most of the ones that i have caught on hook and line 6" or better have a dark brown/black/purple/green/red hue

I've also caught los of warmouth that had a purple hue, & I caught a number of them with green flakes on there scales. Both look great.

I get a huge kick out of dipping those things in dye and releasing them. You should see some of the stories that pop up in the local paper :mrgreen:

You're on a roll today aren't you?

Pay no attention to this guy since it seems he lives to fool the unsuspecting.

I catch small Warmouth with a purple hue all the time. Around here it seems to fade as they grow since I've never seen a full grown fish with that coloration.
