Hi there,
I was just wondering how often you guys feed your sunfish because I find my new pumpkinseeds can eat all day if given the chance. I am feeding them about three times a day and they are always hungry for more! They also eat with such gusto that they literally jump at the food and splash so much sometimes the food actually sticks to the sides of the tank above the water where they proceed to jump at it to get it!
Also what kind of pelllets (if you feed them pelets) do you find your sunfish prefer the best? I'm using cichlid gold once in a while and they seem to like them.
I also feed them mysis shrimp and bloodworms along with an ocassional snail.

By the way, I so love these fish, I have been keeping fish for about 20 years and they are some of the most interesting and fun I have ever kept! If only more people knew about the joys of keeping these guys..sigh
D

I use the various Hikari pellets as a staple. Readily available and the fish love 'em.

I also use Hikari pellets, with tetra cichlid sticks. I feed mine once aday, and they do pretty good. If I were to feed more I would be doing water changes twice a week.

Check this page out. pellets
