Can the forum default be changed
so the default is no quotes of the earlier message in a reply?
When I read a posted message, I look at the tree of replies at the bottom (under "Posts in this topic").
The first few words of each message are displayed. I cannot decide if a reply is worth a look if the snippet only shows "QUOTE(Irate Mormon @ Aug 24 2007, 06:43 P...". Ideally, the first line should be the pertinent scrap of the earlier post and not the old screen name.

If you click "Add Reply" instead of "Reply", it does not include any quotes.
This will be the case if are using the "Outline" format. You can change to the Standard format in the "Options" drop-down and you won't have this problem.
