I have caught what looks to be a melanistic golden top minnow. Anyone ever seen one?
I might be wrong, but it was amazing to see so many black spots on a top minnow which I catch regularly and have never seen with this coloring.

Yeah, I've seen one collected in lower Mobile Bay. The word is that they tend to be concentrated in local populations, the trick is in knowing which local populations.
