This may be a good oportunity for NANFA to get national recognition at a well attended (I have heard from planners that up to 600 people attend) National Convention. Several Seining workshops may be conducted by several of our veteran NANFA Members on rivers close to the area in the attachment.

Call for Workshops

River Network is Now Accepting Workshop Proposals for River Rally 2008

The ninth annual National River Rally will be held May 2-5, 2008
at Sawmill Creek Resort in Huron, Ohio.

As a past participant, you know that the River Rally is a unique learning and training opportunity for professional and volunteer river and watershed leaders. Now is the chance for you to pass along your knowledge and expertise in one (or more) of the nearly 100 workshops that will be offered. Scholarships are available to workshop presenters.

We again anticipate over 500 attendees representing local/state/ regional/national nonprofit organizations, public agencies, tribal members, businesses and more. River Rally participants include experienced and new staff, volunteers, board members and others interested in learning the best watershed protection techniques.

Workshops should focus on hands-on skill-building, not lecturing.

River Network encourages workshop proposals that demonstrate use of learning techniques and workshop participation feedback.

Topics of interest include:
Issues affecting our nation's rivers, such as:

Human Health & Water Quality
Water Quality Laws; Clean Water Act
Stormwater
Monitoring and Assessment
Protection & Restoration
Watershed Education
Climate Change, Water & Energy
Issues affecting nonprofit organizations, such as:

Technology
Public Relations/Communications/Marketing
Fundraising and Financial Management
Strategic and Program Planning
Volunteers

Proposals should be submitted online by 5 pm (Pacific Time) Nov. 8, 2007. Decisions regarding workshops will be made no later than Dec. 31, 2007.

Click here ( http://www.rivernetw...r_proposal.php) to submit an application or for more information.

Please feel free to forward this message to others who may be interested in presenting a workshop at the 2008 National River Rally. Thanks!
