hmmm, right now they are not big enough to eat anything, will they become a problem?

I've never had one myself, but everyone I've heard of that's kept one said they are gluttons, plus they get over 2' long according to fishbase (70.0 cm). I'm sure they'll be fine until they get bigger, but I'd keep an eye on them.

My local fish store (LFS) has one at the moment. It's at least a foot maybe a bit bigger. They keep it alone (I'm sure it ate or harassed others).

70 cm. is huge - Goldstein claims their aquarium size is about 4-5". I dunno - I have a bunch of 'em, in a few years I'll be able to tell you how big they get in an aquarium.

The fat sleepers you have, they are Dormitator maculatus? According to Golstein's American Aquarium Fishes, they will get 12 inches.
