When I drop in the dry food (in this case, TetraMin Small Pellets), the swim after it, nab it, and usually chew on it for a few seconds and spit it out. One is really starting to catch on to the dry food, though, and he chases the other away. Sunfish pecking order! :? Anyways, what would be some good live foods for these half-inchers? I hear blackworms, bloodworms, and glassworms are excellent foods for these fish, but how do I get them? BTW, are those little black dots parasites or pigments?

I got 'em while catching some tadpoles with my little cousins.

Well, @ahem@, I wasn't gonna say that - doesn't mean I didn't THINK it!

But I remember once when I collected a bunch of sunnies that size, which I swore were longears, to send to another NANFA member. He wrote me back later to tell me that they all grew up to be bluegill. At that size, it can be hard to tell the difference.

Irate is somewhat correct, the biggger one that was eating all the pellets shredded the other one up, :-o  and ate off his fins and killed him. Hence the remaining sunfishs' nickname, Shredder.

Ooh, that's harsh.
Could you have moved the smaller sunfish into a different tank?

I have seen pumpkinseeds be VERY aggressive to one another. Bluegills too. Anyone know if Orangespots can be placed in a tank in a group of 3 without such behavior?
