Air Pump Recommendation

I will very shorlty be purchasing a large central air pump for my fish room. I have been told (and read) that a linear piston pump is the way to go. When spring hits and I explode my fun to outdoor bins and stuff I will need a lot more power. I can see, in total down the road needing enough for 75-100 outlets to power a whole mess of smaller tanks, bins, maybe a small back-porch-pond, etc. I wouild rather have a bit more air than I need.
So with what pump brands have people had success, failures, frustrations, etc.?

Why a piston and not a blower?
I was was looking at the outputs vs. wattage used. I certainly haven't ruled anything out. I'm not too concerned about noise, I will have foam board insulation left over after I insulate my fishroom i was planning on builidng a small insulated box or sorts for it, plus it will be on the other side of the fishroom wall where the furnace and stuff is located. Looking for bang per buck, considering power usage too. A decent blower would definately do me well though.
Repair kits for a couple of the LP pumps I looked at were < $10, on average.

This is where I get alot of supplies (food, filters, and air tube). John at Jehmco is a real nice guy. They are out of Jersey so shipment arrive the next day fir us in CNY. I have had my linier pump for 4 or 5 years and it has been great. The only thing I recommend is to go bigger than you think. I have ran out of presure so I have to buy a bigger pump if I want more tanks.

I use these pumps. One unit will run 20-30 sponge filters. Can't beat them for the price. I have two SL-65's. You can often find them cheaper than this on Ebay
