Las Vegas et al needs to crack down on water waste.
Seriously.
Conservation FIRST.
Besides the endangered species act might stop this last dam (unless Harry Reid tries some tricks in Washington)

And where will I play golf? Seriously, I have enough trouble with small sand traps. I think you should come back to reality...

Next time you think "No more nuclear plants!", consider the alternatives. Nuclear power looks pretty good compared to hydroelectric.
Was that political ?![]()
Nah!
I agree that nuclear has great advantages over hydroelectric as well as any petroleum or coal based energy sources.
From the stand point of native fish concerns, they do, or at least the older plants did, produce alot of warm water to be discharged to the environment. Probably not something that is good for the rivers.
On the other hand, if they built stand alone cooling ponds, they could stock them with exotic warmth loving tropicals.
I can see it now, locally grown oscars - that glow in the dark!

tell me where wastes can be safely stored for thousands of years, and how to transport them safely to such storage areas.
tell you what, I'll take my blue suit and red cape out of retirement and throw all of the spent cores towards the sun....or bury them in a mountain in Nevada....
