How do you add a photo and revise your caption if you are already on the map?

Ed, try it now - old pin is deleted.

Does this mean you can't do it without having the administrator delete your pin first? Surely there's got to be a better way!

To edit your pin that's on a Map, please follow these steps:

1. Log in to www.frappr.com
2. Click on the Map under the 'Maps I'm on' section
3. When your pin comes up (which will be the first one in Playback), click on the 'Edit this Pin' link
4. Edit the fields or click on 'Move' to change your location and click 'OK'

I've enabled pin color by gender, and changed the type of map. Tell me what you think. If you did not choose a gender then your pin will still show up as orange.

I'm not in favor of putting gender on there personally. Too many wierdos out there. I'd also worry about other NANFA forum users who did mention their gender. Especially our younger ones.

Yeah, I understand your concern. It's your choice. You can put your pin on as just plain "people" if you prefer to remain neuter.

Great add-on to NANFA! :D

Even works with my dial-up connection. Some problems with map navigation and balloons being cut off by the frame.

I did not use my good email (available here on the forum) to protect me from spam bots.

Hey - why is my pin missing from the map? Was the system purged or something?

I didn't delete it, but I've noticed other missing stuff from the map. Maybe they expire or something. Anyway, put a new pin on there.

Um, not to expose my ignorance, but what does the map do? Can it help me locate other Oregon members?

I tried, by I have a dial up and pretty much nothing fancy ever works.

Thanks!

It's rather slow and hard to navigate.
It looks like a couple of folks were dropped and or removed themselves.

I don't care one way or the other about gender on the map, though I used it to see if it actually works.

I will say, it bothers me that the gender option doesn't work here on this forum, why is it even there if it isn't going to work? Not looking for a date here, folks, it's the whole pronoun thing. It's no fun to get teased about using "he/him/his" when it's "she/her/hers" and visa versa. How are we suppose to know?

Hopefully because most people sign their posts (I understand that there are many reasons not to for some people). But I'm weird that way, I'm a conservative in my old age(?).

Which is what? 25? 32? 87? (Hike!)

So, pretend you don't already know, just what gender would you assign to Mander? No avatar to peek at, no clues on the homepage. I don't know about you, but I'd feel a little conspicuous tagging my gender to the end of every post.

Mander
fat, middle aged, uppity WOMAN, She-her-hers! get the pronouns right! Who-Rah!

Well, like I said, I know that many people have good reason to be leery of clearly identifying who and what they are. With most people there is a series of subtle cues about gender, if one is curious and wants to interpret the cues. I've known women named Bruce, but I figure my pictures are plastered all over various sites and I've met many of the people on this site so I can avoid on-going self-reference (or something...). That's the good thing about NANFA conventions and smaller trips in-between, many of us know each other well enough to yack at each other in an informal way.

The more times I read that, the funnier it is!
