A friend came over sporting a new camera. I convinced her to let me shoot a few pics. I'm short on time, but here's some of a Slenderhead Darter in my tank.
I'll post more when I can get to photoshop -> photobucket -> posting them here...all in the same night.
Got to mess with a new camera

Here's a sample of one of the Redside Dace shots I was able to pull off
A photo of the Frecklebelly Darter near the same rock that the Slenderhead Darter was on in the top picture
The Hornyhead Chub
A Sailfin Shiner that refused to display his fins. You can see the length of the anal fin nicely though to get an idea of how impressive these fish could look when displaying.

WOW!
Those pics are so sharp, I almost hurt myself!
Do tell, what camera?

As quickly as the camera came into my life, it was taken away. I didn't even get its number. (I'll have to ask my friend sometime soon, and she is an infrequent visitor).

That was good shootin by the way.
Didn't mean to imply it was all the camera.
I'm collecting data on DSLRs at the moment. My plan to stimulate the economy calls for me to purchase a big ticket consumer item with my tax rebate.

Got to mess with yet another camera, I think this one is the one I'll be using for a little while. My proffesor granted me usage, if I give him all the pictures I take with it for him to use in his Ichthyology courses. Good deal. Here's what I did while practicing the other day...
One of my favorite darters, the Blackside Darter
One of the hardest fish to photograph in an aquarium, in my opinion, the Brook Silverside
A male Steelcolor Shiner with the nose starting to get red/pink
Red Shiners with their reflectiveness...
and, a random shot of a Northern Redbelly Dace

Wow. Nice photos.
I'm a point n' shoot guy and I'm always struggling with the auto focus when shooting fish. My camera (Kodak Z712is) has manual settings, but I've never learned how to use them.

I've definitely had to use manual settings on some of these recent shots. The auto focus just isn't getting the job done.
