When I come to the forum I automatically click the "view new posts" link. The number of posts returned can vary quite a bit, and in some cases I get none. I tried it a minute ago and got one post from the search. Normally what I end up doing is changing the time period for the search from today to this week. I just expanded the search now and there are 8 posts for today, one of them that didn't initially show up was only 2 hours old.
Can this be addressed from my end?

It is designed to return the posts that you haven't seen since your last visit. Sometimes if you click it after you've read all the new posts, it will show them as read or not show them at all.
I find it annoying sometimes that I click it, walk away from the computer, and when i click it again it marks all of those as read so I have to manually look for new posts. I don't think this is necessarily a bug, but just an annoyance of the forum software.
