Hello all! My buddy is giving me a 55 gallon setup with stand and everything and I am planning on transferring my four sunfish from my old tank to the new big habitat. Now my question is I have two females and two males that i'm putting into the 55 gallon. What other fish would go good with my suns one male is a redbreast sun who seems to be the dominant one versus the other guy. the other male is a longear and the females are both greens. So with allthat room for these four small fish, what other fish can i put in there that will peacefully coexist without any trouble?
Small fish ??? Just don't put that cat you have in your avatar in that tank. Other than that my input would be that those greens will not be "small" very long and that will be one full tank with just the sunnies you menitoned. And better yet some of the more aggressive ones at that. I suppose someone else may agree with me that it would take a good amount of cover and maybe even large enough "caves" of some sort for battle retreats. Again this is just my of the top of my head feeling. But given the mouths of those greenies it would be hard to come up with some sort of dither fish because anything up to a third of his body size would be considered food. Or even bigger.

While really not my area of expertise I hope some-one else will respond here. While there may be doubts from some that a redbrest would breed with either of those other two I suppose anything could happen. There are other people here that have degrees in this sort of stuff and hopefully they will respond. 110 gallon?? where are my friends like that.
I know right! Me and the wife had ate lunch with my buddy and his wife and I was like hey do you have an aquarium? He was like yeah why you need one? Then he said I got this 110 gallon you can get.... He gave me the stand and all for it. I would have got the power head but he couldn't find it at the time. Oh well I will not complain when anyone gives me something so expensive for free.

Sunfish are notorious hybridizers, so don't be surprised if your redbreast or longear spawns with your greens.
Thank yall for sharing fish knowledge with me. I did not know that suns were hybridizers...this could prove to be some pretty fry whenever they finally breed...If ever.
