I have seen this around on the internet as a submersed plant. I have heard that the native version will melt. Any opinions on this plant?

Interesting. I would not have guessed that it could be kept submerged. Maybe there is an aquarium strain? If you have a clump that you have collected, you can always try it. But I'd keep some of it emersed in a little saucer, just in case it doesn't make it...
