hello, i am curious if someone can provide a list of some of the native aquatic plants in illinois that do well in the planted aquarium.

Many of Illinois's native aquatics are commonly kept in aquaria, including hornwort, najas, fanwort, and elodea. I can tell you that water primrose and duckweed also do well if given plenty of light.

Aren't both of those plants considered weeds? Not that I mind, I like weeds, they tend to be carefree.
