I was told it was supposed to be a female fundulus rubrifrons, but I am thinkit it is more likely a golden topminnow ( dunno if it is male or female, but it has red spots forming if that helps)

Yea, my guess would be a golden topminnow (Fundulus chrysotus), but its hard because the picture is kind of blurry (tank pictures are hard, I know). But to be honest I have never seen one in flesh (I am just going off Petersons Field Guide, which makes fish ID'ing pretty reasonable).

Chrysotus was my first thought, and they do have red flecks on their flanks.
