Is that normal for male mosquitofish reach more than 2 inch long? I add him to my "feeder" mosquitofish females colony for his good genetics.

When I was in my LFS, I came across red rosy tank and I spotted a mosquitofish in the tank. I thought that the mosquitofish were "she" because of the sizeness, it was just 2 inch long. Then I discovered that it turn out she is he! I never seen big male mosquitofish before, I always got 1 1/2 inch long males.

I haven't seen any quite that big, but close. I'm pretty sure some livebearers can switch gender, in which case the fish could have started as a female then decided it was transgender...
