I believe I ran across this forum somewhere on google. It was a very nice surprise. Finally I have some people to talk with about native freshwater fish.
I recently recieved my Bachelors degree last December and have been working as a contractual for Maryland's DNR for about 6 months. Ever since summer fish training and helping out with sampling non-tidal streams in Maryland I have taken a great interest in Maryland's freshwater fish. Before working at the DNR I was completley ignorant to the fish that live in our backyard streams. Now, I can't get enough of them.
I posted some pictures in the image gallery section (not realizing that this introductory section existed). I also have a 20 gallon tank with a baby redbreast sunfish, bluegill and a banded sunfish. Pretty soon I'll be getting a 50 gallon tank with a bowed front. Once I do, I'd like to get a blue-spotted sunfish for it. I'll post some pictures once I get a chance.

Don't do it man! The front of the tank will blow out and all your fish will die, gasping for water on the carpet!
Oh, and welcome to the forum!
NEVER I mean NEVER listen to this guy! Irates' experience with fish has led him to believe that they will all die untimely deaths! Oh, but he does offer a plethora of free services that you may want to take advantage of.
