Hello, I've shipped plenty of fish and recived quite a few as well so I have a question. Since bullheads are so very tolerant of low oxygen levels in the water, is it really nevessary to overnite them here? I'm not expecting them to be in peril in breather bags but they should be just fine with priority right?Ok I'm cheap.

They should be fine if you double bag them so their barbs don't poke a hole in the bag. It depends on how big the bullheads are. Larger ones are more likely to poke holes.

I've shipped full-size madtoms (4") using breather bags and oxygen bags with success both ways using USPS priority. People ship large fish all the time without them poking holes by using thicker bags and double bagging which will require using the water + O2 method. A secret someone shared with me is the tie the ends on the bottom of the bag so the fish can't get stuck in them. That is usually the reason why the fish panic and poke holes.

When shipping with conventional bags, I tape the corners of the bag up to accomplish the same goal. Then double bag, the second bag facing the opposite way.
