Well I've been looking for this stuff all spring and summer for my 100g pond, and I finally found it... in my creek. Some idiot probably either had a pond that overflowed or trashed some in their backyard and now it's pretty much taken over a good 2-300 yards. I didn't run across it until I was a good 1/8 mile from my house. The creek is pretty shallow (mostly <2") and most of it is on the banks, but it's still getting enough water to survive. I hope we get a nice cold winter that will kill it off. Mine died off last year, so I'm hoping the same will happen in this creek.

Mine overwinters just fine. Dies back but then comes back with a vengeance. Also survives dessication. Best of luck :-)

I'm just hoping that doesn't happen out at the creek. :(
