Watershed Planner

Position Description: The Center for Watershed Protection has an immediate opening for an experienced watershed planner to join our team. We are a national nonprofit 501©3 organization dedicated to protecting, restoring, and enhancing the quality of our nation’s streams, rivers, lakes, wetlands, and bays through better management of the land. We are seeking a highly motivated individual that has demonstrated experience in watershed planning and assessment, excellent technical writing and speaking skills, and experience managing a project budget and team. Salary is commensurate with experience. The Center provides an excellent benefits package.

Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must have 2-5 years experience in watershed assessment and planning. Applicants will be evaluated based on knowledge of watershed restoration and protection techniques, experience in writing watershed plans, conducting stream corridor and upland assessments, and/or implementing watershed plan recommendations at the local level. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, and applicant must be able to manage budgets and project teams. Successful candidates will also be able to work in a fast-paced team environment, learn quickly, and master new skills. Applicants for this position must be willing to travel and able to conduct fieldwork. A degree in biological or natural sciences or engineering at a minimum, a mater’s degree is a plus.
