*Description of Work*

The Natural Heritage Program seeks a 20 hour per week qualified
individual to compile information about aquatic significant natural
areas, occurrences of rare aquatic species and their habitats, work
with staff of the Natural Heritage Program and cooperators in
maintaining the species databases and in developing database reports.

*Knowledge, Skills and Abilities*

Knowledge of aquatic flora and fauna of North Carolina. Ability to
analyze, manipulate and evaluate data. Excellent communication skills,
both verbal and written, organizational skills and ability to work
collaboratively.

*Training and Experience Requirements*

Graduation from a four-year college or university with a major in one
of the agriculture, biological, engineering, environmental, natural
resources sciences or closely related curriculum and one year of
experience that provides the employee with the functional work
experiences needed to perform the work of the vacancy; or an
equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the
employee functional work experiences needed to perform the work of the
position. Degrees must be received from appropriately accredited
institutions. Special note - this is a generalized representation of

functions per ADA. Examples of work are primarily essential functions
of the majority of positions in this class, but may not be applicable
