I've caught a ton of chain pickeral over the years but I've never seen one like this. I first thought it was a pure redfin but the pattern and size of this fish made me think otherwise. Looking at the shorter snout of this fish and obvious red fins made me think it had to be a hybrid. I actually caught this 2 years ago and posted it on a fishing board, but all most of those guys thought it was a pure chain...I still disagree. I think a member here, MikeZ, did think it was a hybrid.

Well, it is definitely not 100% chain, and doesn't appear to be 100% redfin either. I think you have a strong case here for a hybrid.

I agree that really short snout looks like a redfin, plus the red fins but there is some chain in the body pattern.
