I've been hoping to breed some "dalmatian" Gambusia. I have one male who has finally produced some fry with a normal grey female. None of them are spotted yet. Anyone know at what age the young might show the trait?
I was planning to keep the females to replace the ones presently in the tank. Hopefully the young might carry the trait even if it's not displayed (I assume it's recessive).
Melanism visible from birth?
