Fishbase.org uses this site for their Point Map data.
Global Biodiversity Information Facility was not much use to me. I looked at occurrence data, downloaded and unzipped that data, and it even put that data in Google Earth. Still the data pertains to historic museum collections.
Maybe useful if you want a list of which museums have these dead fish (by species).
Also fun to see the common names used in other countries.
