So Its been two weeks now and the sunfish are doing really well. They are no longer hiding out all the time and always greet me in the anticipation of food. I'm feeding them meal worms (nutridiet naturals by seachem) and freeze dried blood worms. They go crazy over both and I would definatly recomend looking into the nutridiet line of foods as I believe they are new(www.seachem.com). They also have fly larve, fish eggs, and shrimp. Really cool stuff IMO.
Anyway, Here are a few pictures of my fish. They arent that good cause it was really hard to get them to stay still cause of the bluegill bully, and well Im not good at taking pictures. Feel free to Id also. Let me know If these fish look hybrid. I think I have one definate longear, two possible longear hybrids, and not sure if the bluegill is hybrid or not. Let me know what you all think.

No, I acually got these fish from springfield lake. Ive done some pretty good trout fishing on the north fork before, really nice down there.

Both locations are within the White River Drainage. My fish look a lot like yours. I think mine have a little redbreast in their lineage.

Am I right by saying the second pic from the right looks like a bluegill hybrid? I dont know how to tell if he is mixed or not. Hes the least colorful of the 4 and Im hoping that he brightins up and takes on that classic tall body big boy bluegill look eventually.

Also, Im going to catch a crayfish to go in there when the water warms and was also thinking about a green. Would a green do fine with these in a 50 if I make sure that he is smaller than the other four when I add him? Greens are so cool IMO.

I do not have enough evidence to say whether you are right or wrong. I have more than a hunch the longear from the drainage have been infused with a wee bit of redbreast sunfish sourced from the eastern seaboard. Back inthe 1960's tens of thousands of redbreast were released intentionaly into the drainage.

Green would do just fine in a 50 gallon.

Greens will generally do well with other sunfish, but they sometimes let loose, go berserk for some unknown reason and tear up your other fish like a Jack Dempsey will do in a SA cichlid tank. Provide enough cover (Which, by the way you have and that is a NICE tank by my standards  ) and make sure he is smaller than the other fish, and the green sunfish is a great fish for your 50 gallon.

I think you're right, your dominant 'bluegill' is something interesting for sure. If you could get a shot not so flashed out I'm sure some of us could be helpful.

Centrarchid, what was the reasoning for the redbreast introduction?

Thanks for the compliments and advice guys! I really am looking foward to getting a green a and a crayfish in the future. Greens are my favorite sunfish to catch and I think it would be really cool to have one in my tank. I wish I could get a better pic of bully blue on here but I suck at taking pics of fish for some reason.
