what causes this?
there was a discussion about this on another forum: http://www.bassresou...?num=1236626912
everyone gave their idea about what caused it, and everyone also seemed to end with "...but i'm no scientist".
well i know there are indeed some scientists here, so, anybody know what exactly causes the inside of basses mouths to be red?

Can you be more specific? Entire interior of the mouth of just the teeth?

When I used to grow out largemouth bass I would see bright red crusher teeth in the winter and coming out of winter. I assumed it was stress as the pond temps would change rapidly due to it's small size and winter is a tough time for bass. A lot of red in the mouth interior can be indicative of an aeromonas infection. However I don't profess to be an expert in fish pathology.
I didn't look at the pics. I assume they are in the above link?

yeah there are a few pictures in the link.
everybody seems to note the fish being red during the winter/early spring, and it clears up when the water warms.
