Is there a way to raise and breed the black 'field' crickets for fish food?

Thanks

The common field crickets (Gryllus pennsylvanicus and G. veletis) breed annually, so they're not good candidates for a feeder-breeder operation. If you want something other then house crickets, consider some of the tropical roaches such as Blaptica dubia.

Thanks

I was just wondering if they could breed in captivity

Fish seem to like them

Hey, sorry to hijack this thread - can I get that document (house crickets) from you also?

I think that might be something I would like to start up in the near future.

If you don't mind, I will send you my email.

Either way, thank you!

There used to be a gas station near me that sold house crickets as bait. About once a week i'd fill up with gas and bring a shallow plastic container of moist sand+peat and put it in their cricket box, and remove last week's container with cricket eggs. So i had a steady supply of hatchling crickets without the smell and noise of keeping adult crickets, except in winter when they quit selling crickets.
