Hi, I have a large aquarium (125 gallon) community set up. I have been trying to keep some Central Stoneroller Minnows alive for quite awhile now. They just don't seem to keep feeding well. They'll start off well, but after about a month, they just get skinnier and skinnier. I think my temp. is too high in the tank. I'm not sure what to do for them to keep them alive. Anyone have luck with them?

Do you have algae for them to graze on?

I have no trouble with stonerollers, algae or not. They get onto flake food, and veggie flake easily. I do however have trouble keeping white suckers alive, and they could possibly be confused with stonerollers.

I have never kept stonerollers but like skipjack I cannot manage to keep white suckers alive for long. They do well for awhile (so it seems) and eat everything than just die on me.

I do have algae unfortunately b/c it builds up so quickly in my tank. I think I might have too much competition for them. I'm not sure. They did start off eating flakes, pellets, and even frozen food. But now they just keep getting skinny and refuse to eat. This has happened to all my stonerollers, and I've kept about 10-15 of them.
