Hello all. I'm from Buffalo, NY and have a great interest in my local waterways, and a a huge love for my region and city. I also have experiences with fishkeeping, having kept multiple freshwater tanks, an currently have 1 freshwater and 2 saltwater tanks.

At this time, I'm interested in setting up a relatively small (under 75 gallons if possible) Lake Erie/Niagara River tank. I'm looking at the possibilities of keeping bluegills or pumpkinseeds, but I am interested in Perca flavescens, the Yellow Perch as an alternative.

What would some opinions be on the ideal, and on the minimum tank size for a single specimen or for a pair?

Thanks in advance.

I have a P. flavescans that is now almost 11" TL and is living in a 75gal alone. I would not recommend housing more than one in a tank this size...I would say a 90-100gal would be best for 2-3 of them at best.
