catch these all the time, right now i got a good spot thats a pool by an old abandoned house, thats full of these and mollies, was curious what kind are they and is the little one the same thing? are they just male and female or what? thanks for any information

I'm not sure about the first picture (though I suspect it's just an excited male) but the bottom shot looks like a female Sheepshead minnow/pupfish, Cyprinodon variegatus. I caught some of these just this weekend off the eastern shore of Virginia. Cool little fish.

Agreed. Second one is no doubt a sheepshead minnow. First picture seems to be a golden color morph of sheepshead. One of the most fun fish to watch in my tanks.

majority of what i catch are the first picture, the second one was from a different site

and they are definately interesting, never stop moving

I know that this post is older but I was wondering if you are still finding that golded colored pupfish?
