I love the tank, what kind of filtration do you use?

I think some sunfish would be awesome. I would go with less common sunnies like Warmouth, P-Seed, Shadow Bass. Also, Crappie would be really cool. A small school of minnows would be nice too. The larger ones, like mentioned Golden Shiner, or some Shad can get big.

Hey Josh; I have a 80gal sump with 3- 2000gal pumps pushing it.

Hey Josh; Tenecor Corp. about 10yrs ago and the sump I made with the 50gal, that came with it and a 30gal I had. The 3 pumps are GEN-X 150 2250gph. The 50gal sump will keep it clean just fine, but I had the extra equipment so I used it for extra filtration. George

Thanks Mike, I'm going to take your advice and look for some nice pieces of driftwood, but any rock formations would be hard to clean around in this big mama-lucca.

Yah, you gonna need to put on your mask and snorkle and get right in that baby to clean it.

I'm surprized we don't see a bunch of NANFA members sitting around the top in their snorkle gear :smile2:

Mike; when I do a thorough cleaning I have to drain this monster by about 400 gals and get my 6ft ladder and literally climb in and have at it  , but most of the time I use a 5ft python tube, which works great. It a lot of work when you have to do a thorough cleaning but with the great filtration system I have and weekly water changes it's only ever 12 months. The python goes to work every 2 months, but it can be fun when you see how happy the fish are  . I also have a water return and fill system running up the back of the tank.

Wouldn't the tank need a good chiller for a burbot? those are so cold water based that they breed in winter under the ice.

Yes, I think you are right and the coldest my tank may get in the winter is 68 degrees because the sump is in the unheated basement.

Other cold water species that "needed" chillers have been kept without them. NA fishes are a hardy group, I think it's worth a try with a tank that size...

Thanks; I'll look into some of other cold water species.
