Hello, everyone.

I'm a rising college freshman who's long been fascinated with freshwater biogeography. For the past year, I've been researching the phylogeography of giant river prawns (Macrobrachium) using mtDNA and morphometry. At present, I find myself making final preparations for a field expedition to Puerto Rico to collect additional specimens and data.

As it's turned out, dip nets may be in short supply at the Puerto Rican field station I'd been expecting to borrow them from. Would any of you be willing to loan me one of yours from June 20 to July 11? Collapsible or breakdown travel models would be best for transportation in luggage, and 1/16" fine mesh with a monorail rim (i.e. something like a Perfect Dip Net from Jonah's Aquarium) would be preferred.

If you would be willing to assist me -- or know of a local supplier (though I'm waiting for price quotes from online vendors, I fear they won't get back to me in time) -- please let me know. I would be able to pick the net up sometime next week.

Thanks!

This is good, as the alternative would be depressing...
