What do you think the "perfect" feeder fish is and why? Im still debating on few species but here are my favorites:
Zebra Danio, small, cheap, breed in large #'s
Endlers Livebearer, small, cheap, breed easily but low #'s
Rosy Reds, cant forget these guys!
Mosquito Fish, like guppy but not as colorful basically

So heres the order 1-4 #1 is best:
Rosy Reds
Zebra Danio -Guppy Tied

lol wish i had more

I personally prefer mosquitofish because I can go out and get them from my pond for free. The two tiny bass in my 29g LOVE mosquitofish, it's all they've ever had. Except for when my least killifish had too many babies, I had to feed them some of the least killifish fry to keep the population down. So my list is:

1. Mosquitofish - Free, nearly infinite population.
2. Rosy Reds
3. Zebra Danio

(Never tried Endlers before so I can't accurately rate them)

I would have to say convict cichlids are pretty high up there, they grow quickly compared too any other livebearer

Personally I breed both zebra danios and convicts at the moment, the swordtails and mollies just aren't fast enough, although I still have them in one of my tanks

Also I believe there is already a topic about this like 3 down from this one

Convicts are great if you set up 2 or 3 breeding tanks. Keep the water parameters in check and they will breed every 3 weeks normally a day or so after you remove the free swiming fry.
