Is there any way of telling the Southern Brook lamprey ammocoete from other lamprey ammocoete, preferably chestnut lamprey? Im looking into catching and keeping a few of the Southern Brook lampreys.

Yeah im definantly gonna try and catch em, but I just dont want to bring any parasitic lampreys home.

There is no very easy way to distinguish them.

If you head west to the San Jacinto or Trinity, you will get brooks if you catch any at all. They are tough to catch in conventional ways...
