I noticed this darter in one of my tanks the other day. It's probably an easy ID, but I can't make up my mind.

That is what I was thinking, but I have never see one so light in color.
Thanks

It does look very washed out. It could be your substrate or tank decorations. That solid gold line is a give away and I think this is the only one in your area that looks like this.

The funny thing is this is a species that I have been looking for, must have picked it on my last trip to Mississippi last month.

I have some that I go from AL last year. THey are a very hardy aquarium fish and have taken FD and pelleted foods right from the beginning. They take food from the surface as well and often outcompete the shiners that I keep with them.

I just discovered another one in a different tank. I must have been in some kind of frenzy when I collected them because I have no recollection of netting species close to them.

Nope its not a pearl darter. I never keep them since they are endangered. It's a light colored goldstripe darter.
