no doubt its a smallmouth, Ive caught a lot to know what they look like (mind it small ones, but same coloration)

I would say that is definitely a smallmouth bass. I have certainly caught my share of them and I have also been fortunate enough to have caught a couple of shoal bass. I also agree with them on their mystery fish... They do both look like hybrids. I would say the first one is a smallmouth spotted hybrid or I guess in that area likely an Alabama Bass x Smallmouth or the other way around. The second one being lighter colored is probably an alabama x shoal or the oposite. Shoal bass are not as brown as smallmouth here are photo's of some shoals from the Flint River south of Atlanta.
