how can you tell the difference between a juvenile and a greenside darter?

how can you tell the difference between a juvenile and a greenside darter?
I believe the only real character is going to be length. I am not familiar with other locations, but from the info I have used and specimens I have seen anything under ~50mm SL is going to be a juvie. Just a guess though

Greensides are a bit more difficult to tell the sex. The only way to easily tell a male is if he's in full breeding.
Any juvenile will be smaller than an adult. Just check the size. Greensides get pretty big for a darter, so if you find one that is 4-5 inches long, it's an adult. If it has very vibrant colors (greens, blues, reds), it's a male.
