i ended up not taking any shrimp....

Appears to be a Palaemonetes shrimp, but you would need a detailed close up of the rostrum to determine between species. I think the only two choices are pugio or vulgaris.

They make great fish food, even my little bayou killifish can eat those guys. It looks like you also got some with eggs.
