My son wants to keep some Guadalupe roundnose minnows in his 20g high tank. How many could he keep in here safely if at all? Thank you for your assistance.

You'll want to cycle the tank first if it's new. I wouldn't use Guadalupe roundnoses for this since they are a spring-run fish. They might be alright, but I'd use Gambusia, red shiners, or blacktail shiners to cycle the tank. After the cycle, I'd say 10 or so would be OK. I'd put even more in if you do frequent (like weekly) water changes.

Thank You. He is doing a cycle with snails. I don't know where the snails came from but I did get the sand he is using from somebody else so there must have been some eggs or even juveniles in the sand. He likes them so I guess they stay (for now). I won't let him add any fish untill the tank is completely cycled (no matter how much he wines about it;).)
