What I'm about to post is unnecessary but a form of healing for me....

some of you know that my wife and I are expecting a baby. last night she went for a regular scheduled ultrasound...then i got the call....i needed to come to the hospital there was a problem. ended up our 6th month old baby indeed had no heartbeat. she had to deliver her as well. so we are still at the hospital. so now this trip i still plan on attending. i think that it will be a way for me to cope...and get some normalcy back in my life. i think it will be healing to be out in the streams...so now this trip means more to me than anything. a way to be able to release and become stress free. so im still hoping that 1 more person will come through and go on this trip to make it happen. thanks guys!

By all means, I hope you can do the Virginia trip. If it does not look like a go, and you want to meet up for a Upstate or New England outing, please let me know.
My window of opportunity is for an upstate or Southern New England trip would be Saturday and Sunday, but I'd need to know FRIDAY
to pack and reserve a ticket with the Ferry, etc.

If not, I have a weekend in late September or October I can travel up that way.

Did the trip to Virginia go forward? How did you do?
I just took a day trip to Orange County, upstate NY. I netted or observed Black nose dace, creek chubs,
some type of Killies, Redbreast Sunfish, Northern Hogsucker, and Tesselated Darters. Not as exciting as
your out of state adventure, but pretty fun.

Did anyone collect the satin fin shiners?

The color on that darter is incredible.

This is going to sound odd, but I have yet to receive a bill for my virginia fishing license that i ordered online. Is this wrong? Should I contact Virginia about this?

It is really quite stunning. I would love to collect a few of these, does anyone have a location where I might find a few? I'm in Philadelphia at the moment.

That fish is a Mountain Redbelly Dace

They're found in VA and NC. We have a very similar appearing species, the Northern Redbelly Dace in the northern part of PA. No specific locations, but suitable habitat in the Poconos should provide some.
