While shopping for feeder fish at Petco, I noticed some large, silvery minnows in with the rosy reds and goldfish. They had silvery scales, blue backs, forked tails, a blue lateral stripe and upturned mouthes. My smallmouth bass just ate the last one of them, but I was just wondering what they could have been. Sorry, I have no pics.

I work at Petco and we occasionally get golden shiners mixed in with the goldfish. That is most likely what they were.

How big do golden shiners get? A foot or so?

Golden shiners can reach over a foot in length...

Well mine were just excreted by a SMB, so they won't get that big!
