I use Google maps almost exclusively for planning collecting trips. The street view is great (when it's available) to find access points before you go, and then you can mark them on your Gazatreer for reference. The 'terrian' setting is great too showing elevation. However, in the past month or so I have noticed that Google maps no longer puts the names of waterbodies on the 'terrian' setting on the maps. Before, it would show the names of small and large streams/rivers. Is there a setting I've disabled or is everyone seeing this difference?
I have had to same trouble.

I sent them a message concerning it. Hopefully more people will do the same and they'll bring it back.

Here's the link to the source file, just click on "Google Earth" and then "Open". GE will launch and the NHD will appear. (You need to have GE installed first.)
