I thought of one of the few Eastern game fish not introduced to the Pacific Northwest, and that is the muskie. I wonder why? We introduced Northern Pike and Tiger Muskies, why not introduce muskellunge to the West? Or have they already done this and I just haven't seen one yet?

my guess would be because N. Pike spawn earlier and their YOY can pick off all the musky YOY. Pike and tigers together seem like a pretty hostile environment for a musky. Their would just be too much competition.
But that has never stopped the introduction of fish before...

Are you really asking why not? There are countless reasons why not; it is unnecessary to go over them again here. Search around the forums for introduced game fish and you'll find lots of discussion.
Well, they already threw Tiger Muskie and Northern Pike in to the gears here, and pureblood Muskies seem like a logical fish to introduce. Might as well go the whole nine yards, the way I see it. But then nobody from Fish and Game asked me.

Pike (northern, grass, musky or tiger mutts) do not belong out west anymore than the fudging pacific salmon belong in the great lakes, or stripers in the Sacramento River system. Managing fisheries to sell fishing licenses is IGNORANT and short-sighted. Enough said.

When I lived in CA, they found that Northern Pike has been introduced into Lake Davis and the poisoned the lake, though ultimately unsuccessfully, to get rid of them. Esox is something the west coast does NOT need, and I'm pretty sure they know it, too.

Other than this topic just being fodder and something that can stoke a fire, how many people in this community have the proper credentials to make this case seriously? I'd say less than five and I do not count myself. It's been talked about before, it wasn't productive, and it is pretty much the antithesis of NANFA.
